Not clear about what the following line means: scripts => run script DCSDIR/scripts/grml.sh - does this mean that
the /scripts/grml.sh must be in the root directory of the cd iso or usb flashdrive - not clear from the documentation where the DCSDIR is by default???

Yeah, the grml-autoconfig manpage covers that:

| The DCS directory defaults to the root directory of the GRML live image. If a
| file system labeled GRMLCFG is found, the DCS directory is the root directory of
| that file system. [...]
